10,000 BG...bloody good.

Can't get used to this blogging thing, and don't start me on twitter...anyway its been a while since i talked about the new podcast here in Edinburgh, The Kickabout where we've just passed the 10,000 download mark...which unlike 10,000BC which i watched yestarday, is pretty good...if I don't mind saying so myself.
Can't stop worrying about swine flu however...we in scotland were panicked when bird flu arrived here 2 years ago. I myself caught chocolate bird flu this easter holidays and have put on 2 stone.

anyway i have to tell u about this weeks podcasts.

Arthur Montford was immense in our Boot Room, so check it out for stories of Pele, Bobby Moore Puskas and even Andy Ritchie. Joe T and Mickey W along with myself were in a supremely immature mood this week in Pub Chat and on The kickabout where we welcomed boxing correspondent Brian Donald and Agent Black, the undercover amateur referee who launched the latest feature on The Kickabout – For Refs Sake!

In the main show the lads talk about the hard men of football from their professional days – hear how Terry Hurlock put Mickey out for 3 months during a pre-season friendly and try to stifle your laughter as Joe talks about being up-ended by Graham Roberts. And I was delighted to launch the first instalment of Romanov – The Early Years....this week Vladimir wins 2 tickets on a poker game to sail on the RMS Titanic.

Next week, well I haven’t written it yet, any thoughts, gordon@kickaboutscotland.com. And just a word for Scotbet and Mike Platt; the new Scottish treble on the Scotbet website which was launched on our Thursday update show last week paid out!!! So not only is this a little bit of entertainment it might just make you some money. Check out The Scotbet-a-Bout and help keep this going by opening up an online account with Scotbet - Its fun it’s football and you don’t need to know about either to enjoy the Kickabout!

kickabout press launch

been a bit busy setting up a press launch for our podcast The Kickabout, that is until I found out the venue in edinburgh had been double booked and they hadn't told me til yesterday..grrreat.
So if you live in edinburgh and you've read this post and you know The Kickabout, why not come on down to the press launch and see how much beer.......we've not laid on. Even our burlesque dancer has blown us off - or her feathers have. So it'll be an interesting night....funny how night is so phonetically close to sh**e. No I can't think that way, I'm sure Mickey Weir, Joe Tortalano and maybe Gary MacKay (who is struggling to get there) will make it a night to remember.....aye right. Even today as i was planning the event, i took my car to an electrical expert who quoted me 100 quid cheaper than the last guy only i couldn't find it - either i buy sat-nav (therefore nullifying the 100 quid), it doesn't exist (in which case i've been right royally stitched up and well done to whoever's done it...my mate callum gave me the number...mmmmmm) or my luck is well and truly out and i can't do hee haw right this weather in which case the press launch will be as about successful having just the one with Alan Mcgregor

week 4 of the new podcast - the kickabout

Who needs the G20 and Barac Obama, when you've got Barry Ferguson and Alan McGregor going on a 'we need more bevvy' protest' at Cameron House in Loch Lomond..alledgedly!

I've been to Cameron House where this 'spree' or 'session' between the two Rangers and Scotland players took place and let me tell you this - when the drinks are free at that price you've simply got to get tanked in.

And don't let anyone tell it was because they play for Rangers that they felt the need for a drink - if that was the case Kris Boyd would be in The Priory drying out as we speak. No this is just
good old fashioned news mongery at it's best and i love...not since the days of Mo Johnstone and Ally McCoist jumping over that wall have we had it so good....but shouldn't someone tell them you have Dutch courage before you actually play the dutch and not after it.

the podcast thekickabout is going well and I'm sure I'll bring this small scandal up...it would be remiss not to - check out tis weeks on kickaboutscotland.com - there's a great interview with Liverpool legend Peter Cormack...really decent guy whose debut was in 1966 against brazil....funny that year goes really blank after that game...but that was a player....and not only could he play most of the players off the park who are in that Scotland team....I'm sure he could show them the meaning of the word drink. The stayed in the hotel to have this spree!!!! Come on...at least make it to Luss....gthere's a wee bothy and a lovely lass called heather.....well....that's for another day...
